We have a great competition circuit for the Taekwondo Central Competition Team
So its time for members to start clocking up some match experience before this
years major competition unfold.

For our beginners and novice competitors this club competition allows you to
gain valuable experience in competition environment with members of our
own club. This will make a major headstart for our team before the next
competition of the year.

Come to the following classes this year to get involved with the competition team

5 – 8 yrs – Little Spartan – Friday – 3.30pm – 4.15pm

9 – 13yrs – Jnr Sparring – Tuesday – 5.00pm – 6.00pm
– Combined Sparring – Friday – 7.00pm – 8.30pm

14 yrs – 55yrs – Open Sparring – Monday – 7.00pm – 8.30pm
– Combined Sparring – Friday – 7.00pm – 8.30pm

Jasmine Klumpp Nominated For Sports Star Of The Year

Jasmine Klumpp will line up against the South Wests Best Sports Persons for a chance to win the Sports Star Of The Year Award
Being Held on Wednesday night. The Talented 19 year old has had an amazing year winning
Commonwealth Taekwondo Championships in India
The International Taekwondo Clubs Championships in Vietnam
The Olympic Trails (Preliminary Event
& Recently Taking Out the Central Cup (Our Fairest & Best Award)

3rd Leadership Team & Leadership Club Meetings Sunday 26th February 2012

We are especially seeking members from Busselton & Australind
who would be willing to make the travel in on Sunday for our
meeting

If Your Over 10 Years Of Age & A Blue Belt Or Higher,
we are looking for members who wish to be part
of our very successfull Taekwondo Central Leadership Team for 2012.

The Leadership Club is on 4 – 5 pm ($12) at HQ and this is where all that are interested
please turn up and we’ll get you started. Any member who wants to be part of our leaders
must go through this club to put themself in line to be picked

Taekwondo Grandmaster Seminar At Bunbury HQ – 18th March 2012 – Starts 2pm

We are very proud to announce that Grandmaster Ross Hartnett (8th Dan Blackbelt) &
Master Carmela Hartnett (7th Dan Blaackbelt) will be coming to Taekwondo Central
for a Poomsae Seminar for our Taekwondo Club

Mr & Mrs Hartnett recently were recognised by the World Taekwondo Federaration (WTF)
Hall Of Fame in Korea for their contribution to the sport & the Art of Taekwondo

Mr Hartnett was the 2000 Sydney Olympic Head Coach that help secure Australia’s First
Olympic Gold & Silver Medal, While Mrs Hartnett is a World Champion at poomsae (patterns)

The seminar will be held at 2 Armitage St Bunbury starting 2pm and all are welcome.
We will have more details shortly of this great opportunity

Jayme-Lee Smith Makes Australian Team for 2012 World Junior Taekwondo Championships in Egypt.


Jayme-Lee Smith (14) has pulled off a very impressive victory
and taking out gold at the recent
Australian Team Selection Trials for the World Junior Championships
in Egypt held over the weekend in Perth

At still only 14 years of age and fighting the under 18’s division.
The Taekwondo Central Black belt thumped her opponent in the final
ending with a second round stoppage with the score at 20 – 2. Jayme-Lee
fought the u/18 silver medalist for the division up from last years 2011 Nationals

Its a string of achievements as she currently hold the WA State Taekwondo Title,
The Australian Taekwondo Title, The very highly contested International Taekwondo Clubs
Championships (Silver to Vietnam) and now earning a spot in the Australian Junior Team
seamed to be the next step, and she did it convincingly

Other competitors were Ben Jerez who fought a tough division to earn a bronze and Sarah Turner (14)
who lost to the evential winner by just a point.

Well done to all the team, were very proud of you all

for your help. But the biggest thankyou to Branden Madaffari who helped every chance he could

Thankyou to STA (Sports Taekwondo Australia) for giving the taekwondo championships to WA.
It was nice to not have to travel all the time to get an great opportunity.

Jasmine Klumpp – Crowned Our Best To Date After Retaining Club Champion for 2011- See The Wind Up Photos

19 year old Jasmine Klumpp become our most successfull ever after winning
the Taekwondo Central Club Champion for the 3rd Time (2011, 2010, 2008).

The Taekwondo Central Instructor was awarded the Cup after winning
2011 WA State Champuionship – Gold
2011 Olympic Preliminary Qualifying Event – Gold
2011 Commonwealth Taekwondo Championships (India) – Gold
2011 International Clubs Taekwondo Organisation Championships (Vietnam) – Gold

At still such a young age, Jasmine will surely be a competitor to watch out for in the

Taekwondo Central Junior Blackbelts Ready Junior For World Team Selection

Taekwondo Central Blackbelts Ben Jerez (16), Jayme-Lee Smith (14) & Sarah Turner (14)
have been training hard to earn a spot in the Australian Team to compete in Egypt
later this year.

The team has been training up to 6 times per week with our pool of Blackbelts
for a chance a the prestigious spot of representing the country

“Theyre all looking great”,  said Taekwondo Central Head Instructor Justin Warren
theyre putting in hours of training, working conditioning, tactics and sparring drills.
There preparation has been great as many of the other high level competitors from
our club have been bringing in their experience to share with our 3 fighters and its paying
off. I feel its their time now

The selections will be held at Altone Park Leisure Centre in Beechboro, Perth of the 5th
of February and will contest the best Jnr Taekwondo Blackbelt Competitors from around the country

Ben is also part of Taekwondo Central Leadership Team who dedicated their time to building
confidence, courage and self defence skills to students ranging from 4 – 55 yrs. He has always
been a big part of our club. Hes an amazing young man who has already previously won
The Central Cup for being Taekwondo Central  Fairest & Best

With all 3 being former Australian Champions and Jayme-Lee is the current Under 18’s Blackbelt
Champion, so she would be the favourite in her division Jayme-Lee  also pulled off a silver in the
International Taekwondo Clubs Championships last year in Vietnam
while Sarah also placed Silver at the same competition ( ITCO ) in Malaysia 2 years before .
Ben was a quarter finalist in a division that had just under 30 competitors in his division

Ben & Sarah have had a break from competitions last year due to various reasons but have really
picked up the level and commited to the training in the hope of a chance at being a
Jnr World Taekwondo Champion
