Aravind Krishnan. U, Attains Highest Mark & Double Grades at the recent Taekwondo Central Grading

27 year old Aravind Krishnan. U,  has pulled off an amazing grading to earn his Yellow Belt 2 Stripe (8th Gup)
in an impressive display of skill and talent to Double Grade in his first grading.

Since entering the doors of tkdcentral.com Headquarters, he has thouroughly impressed all of the
clubs instructors with amazing talent and an ability to pick up techniques quicker than any student that has
entered the Full Time Academy

Aravind is a Martial Arts movie enthusiast who has learned many of his skills by mirroring the stars of the screen
and tranfered that into amazing skills and ability which made the Centrals Instructors job very easy.

Aravinds standard is so high we have got him in sparring the Blackbelts where he hold his own against the
clubs best

“We are so proud to have in our team” said Head Instructor Justin Warren. Not only his Martial Arts skill
but also his discipline, personality and mannerism will take him along way in the Taekwondo arena.

Aravind is now looking at grading to Yellow 3 Stripe (7th Gup) at the end of January as part of the January Summer Holiday Program
and has expressed interest in stepping into the Tournament scene in 2012. We wish him the best of luck in his future Martial Arts achievements

Maya Smith, Ebony Bilcich, Ben Cole & Blake Shanahan, have all recently
moved up to Blackbelt, Ajana Plunkett makes her 3rd Poom (Jnr Dan) Black Belt
at a December Blackbelt grading with some 80 other State wide Blackbelts

Taekwondo Centrals 5 that passed were picked from over a dozen persons training to achieve
the high level in Taekwondo Centrals Blackbelt Pool

Ajana Plunkett was one of the highest scorers for the day, and we were very happy with the
students behavior, effort, attitude and addaptability to change,
they all deserved their next level just on the pure effort theyve put in.

Maya, Ebony, Blake, and Ben will now move to a new phase of their training by entering our
Advanced Blackbelt Master System, while Ajana has now will have a 3 year training stint to get
her 4th Dan Blackbelt. To achieve 3rd Dan is an amazing accomplishment that very little make
and especially considering she turns 14 this year.

Well done to you all, We are very proud of you

6 Gold – 4 Silver – 2 Bronze at Australian Taekwondo Championships for Taekwondo Central

Pic 1 (L – R) Brad Yates (Gold), Jake Radford (Gold), Jordan Radford (Silver)
Pic 2 (L-R) Brad Yates (Gold), Chloe Wild (Bronze), Christopher Guy (2 Gold)

It was a great weekend on the sunny Gold Coast, where Taekwondo Central took a team of 12 to contest the Australian Taekwondo Championships.
There were some amazing performances from our club with Bradley Yates & Jake Radford the definate stand outs

Bradley Yates found himself in a final against an opponent the next heavier division up, competing in a catch weight division.
Unknowing to us his opponent had already won the division above that. Brad used precision timing, explosive speed and great
footwork to totally overwhelm his opponent taking out a 10 -0 win.

Jake Radford was amazing in his match control, the whole time he just had his opponents falling foor his well practised tactics
and it wasnt long till it was clear that it was his day. Jake has now in 2011 was the South West Taekwondo Champion,
The WA State Taekwondo Champion & now the Australian Taekwondo Champion in which has been a great year for him on the competition circuit

Blackbelt Jayme-Lee Smith has made an amazing climb in the last year. After winning her home town of “Collie’s Young Sports Person Of the Year”
last year, the 13 year old added an U/18 Blackbelt Australian title to her string of 2011 achievements including WA State Champion
(Defeating the current last Australian Champion) and earning a Silver at the very competative International Clubs Taekwondo Championships
held in Vietnam

Our Amazing Mum Athlete Lorelle Klumpp took out gold and Australind Teenager Christopher Guy took out gold for both his Sparring & Patterns division (Unfortunately Christopher had no opponents again, so both divisions were a walk through). Lorelle put in alot of hours at our HQ preparing so its great to see that she got what she worked so hard for and deserved.

Silver Medals were earned by Jordan Radford, Jake Klumpp, Connor Peterson & Blake Shanahan

Jordan Radford (6) won his way through to the final convincingly and found himself facing a slightly older
opponent in the Final. With his opponent physical maturity playing a big part, Jordan found himself 5-0 down
heading into the last round. In what was won of the most amazing comeback attempts Ive seen from our club in years
Jordan found his opponents weekness and in a matter of minutes was back to 5-5 when the contest ended.
In sudden death Jordan just couldnt get the right distance and very narrowly in a real gutsy effort placed 2nd

Bronze were won by Branden Madaffari & Chloe Wild.

The event also lifted Taekwondo centrals overall gold medal tally to
100 Australian Champions now since our beginning in 1999.
Brad Yates (who won our final gold for the day) made the 100th champion

Jake & Jordan Radford Lead The Way At 2011 Mr Shin Boo Kim Memorial Championships

Taekwondo Central entered a 9 person team into the 2011 Mr Shin Boo Kim Memorial Championship
with a 5 gold, 3 Silver, 2 Bronze return from our team.

2011 Wa State Sparring Champion, Jake Radford showed why he is just that. Winning gold in a strong performance
defeating a South West & a Metro Opponent to win gold. Little Brother 2011 WA State 2nd Ranking Jordan Radford also kicked his way
to victory in a great performance to take out gold.

Danielle Suckling also proved too strong for her opponent, winning comfortable gold in her girls sparring contest
with WA State 3rd Ranked Maeve McNulty winning the gold in her patterns division & smallest competitor
Aiyana Morris winning her poomsae division in the smallest of the girls competition.

Silver Medals went to first time competitor Nicholas Wilson putting in a great effort,
and earning valuable experience for the future and Luke Smith who also put in a strong effort.
Luke also won a bronze in his poomsae division. Dylan Morris was our teams poomsae Silver Medalist

Recently just grading to yellow belt, Aaron Mernilo had his first attempt at competition and did himself proud
earning bronze for his first go.

Taekwondo Central Sparring Team wins 8 Gold, 4 Silver from 11 competitors at WA State Championships

Above – Zoe Brown shows her 2 trophies for 1st place

Taekwondo Centrals assualt on the WA State Taekwondo Championships was a great success for the sparring team winning 8 Gold, 4 Silver with Zoe Brown leading the way taking out 2 Gold in Black belt & Red belt divisions in her weight group

The sparring team success is a great reward for the many putting in the hours of training and the hard work of Melissa Warren, Jasmine Klumpp & Jake Klumpp. with a special mention to Jake Klumpp using his experience to coach with Justin for the great result

Most memorable moments for the team were Zoe Brown winning Double gold,  including winning the Blackbelt division (Zoe is still a Red Belt) and Liam Heidt &  Jayme-Lee Smith who dropped their opponents with well timed kicks to the head guard, both went on to raise the gold tally, Connor Peterson for a great silver medal who as a red 1 stripe beat a blackbelt and placed 2nd in the blackbelt division and Chris Guy who fought an under 18 competitor (though Chris is only 13) through agreeing to a catch weight due to both competitors not having a division, put in one of the most gutsiest efforts seen in a long time. Well done team

Taekwondo Gold, Silver & Bronze at ICTO for Team CENTRAL

Jasmine Klumpp (18) clocked up her 2nd International Gold for 2011 by winning gold at the
International Club Taekwondo Organisation Championships held in Ho Chi Minh CityVietnam.
The Taekwondo Champion defeated 3 opponents to win her gold in acompetition that included
Kores, Chinese-Taipei & Thailand among the 12 countries competing. Jasmine is the current
Australian Champion & Commonwealth Champion

Jake Klumpp (17) put in a great performance to defeat a tough Vietnam fighter and
was unlucky to not have a head kick scored for him which ended the difference
in the semifinal. Jake won a great Bronze in what looks to be a great future for him.

Jake is the current Australian Champion for his division

Our youngest member of the team was Jayme-Lee Smith (13) who competed in the
under 18s after getting a walk through with Vietnam in the first competition,
Jayme-Lee thumped Malaysia then was undone by a very strong Vietnam fighterto earn herself the Silver in her first International Competition. Jayme-Lee is

Collie’s current Junior Sports Person of the the Year and also has a previous
Australian Title under her belt
